The People

Anthony Renowden bought H. Johnson & Co from his grandfather Harold in 1988 after spending countless school holidays fossicking amongst the sheds and marvelling at the craftsmanship of stonemasonry.  Prior to buying the business, Anthony trained as a cabinetmaker, honing his attention to detail, and fine craftsmanship skills.  It is these skills that he has brought to the current business and shares with all members of his team.

Anthony has brought the latest technology into H. Johnson and Co, purchasing one of the first computer sign-writing systems in 1989 and more recently updating to the latest in Windows-based technology.  He has also installed a new sandblasting facility, enabling the sandblasting business to grow substantially and branch into other areas such as kitchen splashbacks, flooring materials and step treads.  However, monumental masonry remains the core business of H. Johnson & Co.

Anthony re-established the NSW Monumental Masons Association in 1993, serving as President for five years.  The Association remains the only regulatory body of the industry today.

Anthony and his team of five have completed many renovations for the National Trust of Australia in conjunction with local Councils across NSW, building an unrivalled reputation for excellent quality, reliable service and total professionalism.
